Employers can filter the results based on their needs, such as the demographic of the employee you are looking for, the reason you are hiring and the type of financing available (e.g. grant, loan or wage subsidies).

Canada Revenue Agency, Apprenticeship Job Creation Tax Credit A non-refundable tax credit equal to 10% of the eligible salaries and wages payable to eligible apprentices in respect of employment after May 1, 2006; maximum credit is $2,000 per year for each eligible apprentice.

Employment and Social Development Canada Work-Sharing (WS) program is intended to prevent the lay-off of permanent, full-time employees during a temporary reduction of business activity that is beyond the control of the employer. Provides income support to employees eligible for Employment Insurance benefits who work a temporarily reduced work week while their employer recovers.

Employment Ontario, Programs for Employers This portal connects employers to wide array of programs that are available through Employment Ontario that can connect businesses to subsidized staffing.  This list stays updated through Employment Ontario.

FedDev Ontario Programming to help create, retain and grow businesses, cultivate partnerships and build strong communities. This will support a strong southern Ontario economy and position the region to compete globally.

Innovation Canada, Funding Navigation Tool This tool helps you navigate the myriad of funding, tax credits, and other programs that can help your organization. Mentorworks, Small Business Funding Events  This calendar curated by Mentorworks lists workshops, information sessions, webinars or any other event that is related to funding opportunities for small to medium sized enterprises. 1-888-599-3111

Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities, Canada-Ontario Job Grant  The Canada-Ontario Job Grant provides direct financial support to individual employers or employer consortia who wish to purchase training for their employees. It is available to small, medium and large businesses with a plan to deliver short-term training to existing and new employees. Employers can get up to $10,000 in government support per person for training costs.  1-800-387-5656

Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities, Ontario Job Creation Partnership If you need an employee for a new business project, you may be eligible for this program. You can apply to hire an employee who will be paid by the program if you have a fixed start and end time, your project is a new addition to your normal projects, you are offering a meaningful work experience, it benefits the community or the local economy. Your business does not have to pay the employee but should be able to pay a share of the project costs.

Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities, Ontario Labour Market Partnership If you are an employer or employee/employer association in Ontario, you could receive funding to assist in developing and implementing strategies for dealing with labour force adjustments and meeting human resource requirements. Your projects should address a labour market issue, include two or more partners who contribute resources, have fixed start and end dates, require no future funding.

Ontario Ministry of Finance, Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit Employers who have incurred expenses as a result of hiring and training an apprentice in a skilled trade on or before November 14, 2017 can claim up top 30% of the expenditures for a refundable tax credit. The Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit is not available to apprenticeship programs that commenced on or after November 15, 2017. 1 866 ONT-TAXS 

Ontario Ministry of Finance, Ontario Innovation Tax Credit If you are a corporation that has performed scientific research and experimental development in Ontario, you may be eligible to receive a tax credit from the Government of Ontario. The amount of money you can receive for the tax credit depends on the total expenditure and the amount available. 1 800 959‑5525

Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, Ontario Research Fund  Funding to help cover cost of research operations (e.g. slaries, supplies, etc.). Provides a single window for research funding, including wages and benefits across a variety of programs to support scientific research that can be developed into innovative goods and services to boost Ontario’s economy. The fund provides up to one third of the total value of a project, with the remaining two thirds coming from a combination of private sector and institutional contributions.
